Well, we finally made it.  It took a few extra days, an extra stop along the way, and even involved splitting up our group temporarily….but we made it home, safe and sound.  It’s wonderful to be back!

A trip like this takes a long time to fully process, and as we begin that process we look forward to sharing our insights with you.  There will be a presentation at the church in the next few weeks…stay tuned for details.  Also, members of the group may wish to write further reflections on this space in the coming days.

Many thanks to everyone who supported us – through gifts, prayer, reading this blog, and countless other ways.  We could not have done it without you!

From the bottom of my heart, on behalf of the children and families of Concepcion, words seem inept at this moment. Though we don't know each other, we have shared an incredible journey and opportunity to serve a world far greater than our own within the same village. We have looked into the same eyes, and held the same hands. We have probably even shed some of the same tears. Know that what you have done for these people is met with much gratitude and many blessings. I know that within the confines of a small church, blessings will be lifted by the children who are now parasite free and the mothers who walked them to you. You do indeed have much to process. Give yourself time to truly sort your feelings. I always search for balance in the overwhelming inequities. I have also learned that some questions need not be answered. I am always left with heart and eyes lifted for guidance, direction, and peace. Know that the gifts you have bestown are far larger than you know. Muchas gracious y dios bendiga!!!
